never read them

September 21st, 2006 by dimplehyper4real

+ there you pass by
not glancing
not knowing
there I sit by
hoping
waiting

+ !’I love you.!( Know y im telling you this??? So tmorow if I
never wake up u!&ll know that before I die. I!&ve told you that I
really do love you..my friend

so dat tmorow if I never feel the
same, u’ll know that I had once loved you..ryt now I do..i do love
you.
+ Why is it so hard to let yourself be driven by the emotions
that constitute loving when you really want to succumb to love? But
still you can never tell whether you have made the right choice or
not until you discover the real thing.

+ Sometimes I think of myself being in love, but when the doors of
opportunity opens up to me, I can only think that what I thought
would completely be the opposite of my perception. That’s pretty
scary.

+ Every waking moment of my life is filled with thoughts of regret
and blame. Because the person I love could never love me back.
Have you ever felt that?

+ Have you ever loved someone so much that you always wonder what
the other person is doing, what goes on their minds, you wanna
share every second with the person, and you can cry because of the
intense emotion.

+ What is more terrible? to love someone who knows you love
him/her but keeps on ignoring you, or to love someone eventhough
you know that his/her feelings for you will vanish? wat is more
painful.

+ We are all losers! It’s wen we cling to God that we conquer and
become victorious!!! I myt sound lyk a complete hypocrite, but
sometimes a good beating helps. SNAP OUT OF IT!

+ Y tru love waits?coz if its true love that u truly feel for the
person, u do not force yourself into her lyf, u do not impose your
wants. U simply plant your love to her and let it grow through
time, let that person decide if she wants to nurture that seed.
You!&ll know in due time.

+ You do not kiss the person for the sake of kissing. You kiss the
person coz you know it’s the right time. Learn to feel the rhythm
and listen to the timing of love.

+ Never know I could have these emotions
Never know feelings unexplored exists
But I cannot deny the odds
Feelings unexplored haunt me

+ You know wat’s so freaking crazy about life? Its when people
say you’ve changed and they make such a big deal out of it. Chill
out. Get real. People just darn change.

+ The airy coldness swepts me in my reverie. People pass by
wondering about the girl in the stairs. Lost in her own utopian
world. I lean on the wall!noticing something!looked
closely!KUGMO!

+ It sucks when you have to withhold telling the person you love
him becoz he opted to love another, but it sucks even more when you
tell the person you love him and eventually you fall for another.

+ From our first hello, till you held my hand. My mind that was
once hollow was then occupied with love.

+ Eyes don’t lie. Birds can fly. In you I can rely, but loving
you becomes a sad goodbye.

+ Y is there a point in a person’s life that they fall for
someone who can never really reciprocate the feelings that they
have bestowed upon?

+ Love is like a wind. You can feel it, but you can never fully
grasp it. You can just hope that when it blows your way, you’re
prepared for the comforting subtle breeze or the destructive
hurricane. Shit!

+ They say that tears are there to cleanse the eyes, but I believe
it does more than that, it sheds away the pain, it proves that we
are all vulnerable and that we need a friend. It is both an
assurance and a comfort.

+ When I love, I love silently..i let FATE decide.

+ Sumtyms people piss you off intensely that you decide to lay off
being wid the person to avoid further damage, yet dey take it as
though you are mad at them and they hate you even more.

+ There are instances in a man’s life that they long for company,
it can be a dog, a friend, a lover, but I ain’t have those.
Somewhat pathetic, but true.

+ Have you ever felt so alone that you see yourself as a star, a
shoulder, a mat, a tissue, a hair in your butthole? Things that are
always there but you never gave a thought!

+ Fate, destiny, soulmate, divine intervention. I strongly
believe in those things. It has infallibly become my philosophy.

+ In dreams;
You’re perfect
You’re who I want
In dreams;
I’m content
Ethereal joy
In my wake;
You’re lost
You’re dim
In my wake;
I’m alone
Nobody understands.

+ I fell too hard, soared too high, loved too much. Hid it
inside. He didn’t see it, maybe he wasn’t meant for it.

+ You’ll only know how much the person means to you when you loss them.

+ The greatest things in life are not empirically evident, yet
they value more than life itself!

Who is Horney?

September 14th, 2006 by dimplehyper4real

INFORMATION FOR TODAY
KAREN HORNEY
As both an outstanding medical student and young mother who was coping
with difficulties in her own marriage,
Karen Horney, (pronounced Horn-eye), became depressed.  She entered
therapy, but was very disappointed with the
process as well as the basic principles of psychoanalysis.
(Undergoing the process of therapy made her more
sensitive to the needs of a client, as it will do for any therapist.)
Becoming actively outspoken against Freud’s theory
that many of the abnormalities seen in women relate directly to their
frustrated wishes to be men, Horney rejected
Freud’s concept of penis envy and the Oedipus complex.  According to
Horney, anatomy is not necessarily destiny,
and it is the cultural forces in a patriarchal society that
indoctrinate male superiority.  Maintaining that women must
realize their inferiority feelings are based on unconscious acceptance
of a belief in male superiority, Horney looked
to the development of a more democratic and egalitarian society as the
answer.  Horney also rejected Freud’s theory
of female masochism.  In dealing with a potentially hostile world, she
viewed people as moving toward (feeling),
moving against (action). or moving away (thinking).

Out of her departure from Freudian psychoanalysis, Horney came up with
a description of ten neurotic needs:
1. The need for affection and approval.
2. The need for a partner who will take over one’s life.
3. The need to restrict one’s life within narrow borders.
4. The need for power.
5. The need to exploit others.
6. The need for social recognition and prestige.
7. The need for personal admiration.
8. The need for personal achievement.
9. The need for self-sufficiency and independence.
10. The need for perfection and inaccessibility.

Because Horney perceived similarities and commonalties among these ten
needs, she grouped people displaying
certain ones predominantly into three distinct categories.
1. Compliant types–These people have needs connected with moving
toward people. The need for affection and
approval, the need for control by a partner, and the need for a life
within restricted borders mark neuroses of
compliant types.
2. Aggressive types–With a neurotic need for power, these people
believe others are hostile and untrustworthy.
Highly competitive, aggressive types are driven to demonstrate
continually that they are the strongest or the
smartest. The main reason for having people in their lives is
enhancement of their own prestige, wealth, or power.
3. Detached types–Displaying needs associated with moving away from
others, these people display neuroses
marked by needs for self-sufficiency and perfection. Generally
solitary, detached types tend to operate in total
secrecy and are very reluctant to reveal even the most basic and
trivial details of their lives,  On a positive note, they
are not conforming robots; they will fight for their beliefs. Since
they never want to be influenced or obligated, this
independence can be negative.

martial law

September 10th, 2006 by dimplehyper4real

By definition, Martial Law is the temporary superimposition of military government over civil government. This military-run government is put into place in the event of war or serious national emergencies.

During such times, the military and its accompanying superiors take over the executive, legislative and judicial functions normally delegated to the civil government by virtue of its constitution. As a consequence, the writ habeas corpus, or the right of an individual in custody to be brought to court to determine whether such incarceration is lawful, may be suspended indefinitely. This suspension of individual rights denies the person due process of law.

thebeginning.article4.image1.jpg (17331 bytes)Many reasons can be brought forward to explain why a government can bring forth such a Draconian system on its populace. The are cases when civil unrest, such as this case of civil war, threaten to unravel a peaceful and productive soviety. In such cases, maybe the imposition of Martial Law can be justified.

However, there are situations in which such measures are taken in order to cater to selfish and corrupt desires to remain in power.

September 21 1972, President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos, President of the Republic of the Philippines signed Proclamation No. 1081, placing the entire country under his firm grasp. On that fateful day, the course of Philippine history would be changed forever, signaling the start of a new fight for freedom, not against a foreign invader, but a mad dictator blinded by absolute power.

Under the guise of insurrection and by staging of several bogus "ambushes" on members of the cabinet, Marcos manipulated, ever tailored events to justify the imposition of Martial Law. He cited rebel factions, seditious Communist elements and Muslim extremists as reasons for his decision. In truth, many of the said elements were disgruntled citizens who were fed up with the corruption of the Marcos government, decided to take matters into their own hands.

Anyone who lived during that period of Martial Law will tell you that those times were the darkest times in Philippine history. The common citizens were at the mercy of a man who had every intention of holding on to power as if it was life itself.

Those were dark times indeed. As the write of habeas corpus was suspended, the military picked up and incarcerated many innocent civilians on trumped up charges of sedition. More often than not, these people were convicted without trial, and denied the due process of law. Curfew was imposed leaving many stranded in their offices, unable to return to the refuge of their homes.

The right to assembly was also withheld, prompting many student and labor organizations to disband amidst threats of arrest. The government controlled media and all its related resources; the successive right to freedom of speech was non-existent. The law as it was intended to be simply ceased to be, all that existed was the whim of a dictator who sat with the entire nation in his grasp.

It was during these hard times that the patriotic spirit of the Filipinos rekindled, many brave souls faced the darkness and denounced the abuses being performed on the Filipino people under the guise of Martial Law.

However, the power of the dictator and his cronies were too great, slowly the corruption and greed overwhelmed the new heroes. Many of these patriots "mysteriously" disappeared only to reappear as corpses. Many were incarcerated for many years, denied the right to defend themselves in court. Those who were too influential such as the case of Ninoy Aquino, were simply sent away, exiled to foreign lands and denied the chance to better their country’s state.

The Philippine Republic simply ceased to exist in that one dark moment of history. The shadow of Martial Law will always be remembered, as one of the truly tragic events that gripped this gallant nation.
